Join us for 300 Free Arts Events

The Library will be closed July 4, 2017, in celebration of Independence Day.

Thursday, June 22nd, beginning at 9:00 p.m., we will be upgrading our catalog system. The catalogs (Encore/Classic), My Accounts and some electronic resources (databases) will be unavailable for 4-6 hours.

In honor of Art IS Education month in March, Alameda County Library is presenting a series of 300 free arts events for youth, adults, and families.

The Art IS Education theme this year is Creative Voices. Join the fun at the events and enjoy creative activities for your family and community!

Through the support and shared vision of New Beginnings, the Alameda County Arts Commission’s program 100 Families Alameda County brings together diverse and intergenerational families to create artwork with the goal of enhancing the well-being of the family unit and community.

This is the 17th year of the countywide arts education celebration, Art IS Education. Alameda County Library is working in partnership with the Alameda County Arts Commission and the Alameda County Office of Education to expand the reach of Art IS Education to library patrons by presenting this amazing array of free arts events. *Art IS Education 2017 Event Booklet.(PDF) * Art IS Education 2017 "Make a Family House" Touring Workshop.(PDF).  *Art IS Education 2017 Creative Characters Touring Workshop (PDF).  * Art IS Education 2017 Booklist  (PDF).
