Welcome to the Bookmobile

The Alameda County Library Bookmobile is a library on wheels with books, magazines, music CDs, CDROMs, videos, DVDs and books on cassette and CD for children, teens, and adults. The bookmobile visits schools and neighborhoods once every two weeks. Check the Schedule for dates and times.

Alameda County Library cards may be obtained on the Bookmobile. Library materials are checked out for two weeks and may be returned to the Bookmobile or to any branch of the Alameda County Library.

Titles not found on the Bookmobile can be requested from another library. Items may be reserved from the Library's online Catalog. Just select Bookmobile as the pick-up point and it will be delivered at the stop where the library card is registered. Requests may also be made by contacting the Bookmobile office at 510-745-1477, 9 A.M. - 5 P.M., Monday through Friday.

The Bookmobile is unavailable at times, usually due to maintenance or repair. Every effort will be made to notify customers if the Bookmobile is unable to make a stop. Checked-out items may be brought back when the Bookmobile returns. No late fees will be charged under these circumstances.
