Fremont Main is the largest building and has the highest circulation in the Alameda County Library family and shares its building with the Alameda County Library Administration. The current building was dedicated in 1989 and is home to the Maurice Marks Center for Local and California History, and the Fukaya public meeting rooms.

Library Supporters:

  • Fremont Library Advisory Commission advises the City Council and the Librarian on library facilities and services.

  • Fremont Friends of the Library raise additional funds at Book Sales held twice a year. The Fremont Friends of the Library, a non-profit volunteer organization, was established in 1965. All proceeds from the book sales are given to the Fremont libraries to purchase equipment, books, children's programs, etc. Books available at the sales are donated from the libraries and private individuals. For more information about the book sales, please call 510-494-1103 or 510-797-7365.

  • Get Involved and assist the library in a number of important areas including: taking books to shut-ins through the Senior Outreach program, Internet docents, library tour guides and more.
