“Silver Sails” by Lou Pearson and Robert Robins, polished stainless steel sculpture, parking entrance, 39141 Civic Center Drive and Walnut Street. Privately owned. Mr. Robins describes their work this way: “Imagine the fluid motions of dance but without the dancer, and the sweep of a bird in flight, but remove the bird. Now blend these together into a few simple strokes written in gleaming steel.”

Pearson was a self-taught artist and Robins is an architect. When they met and realized their similar artistic interests, the two decided to collaborate and did so until Pearson’s death in 2005. Robins now works with Pearson’s grandson to continue creating beautiful sculptures.
