“St. Francis of Assisi” by Beniamino B. Bufano. This is an original sculpture by Bufano and is found at the Berg-Pappas-Smith Mortuary, 40842 Fremont Blvd. Refer to "Penguins" for artist information; also see "Bear and Cubs", both also by Bufano. Privately owned.
The sculpture represents St. Francis of Assisi (1181-1226), who founded the Franciscan order of the Roman Catholic Church and became known for his love of animals.
