Solar Semaphore

“Solar Semaphore,” electrically operated mobile by Jerome Kirk of northern California, 1991, is located on Laurelview Court off of Fremont Blvd. in Bayside Business Park. Privately owned.
Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1923, Mr. Kirk served in World War II. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1951. Sandy Erikson of Erikson Fine Art Gallery, Healdsburg, said of this mobile, “Classic Kirk.” A “Los Angeles Times” art critic described Mr. Kirk’s work as “…a gentle rhythm evocative of quiet music or graceful dance.”
