Notice of Meeting - San Lorenzo Library Advisory Committee

San Lorenzo Library, established in 1910, is the Alameda County Library’s oldest library. It serves the community of San Lorenzo and neighboring areas, approximately 52,000 people, and circulates over 250,000 items annually. The current library facility was built in 1968. Spearheaded by the Friends of the Library—San Lorenzo Area, the community actively promotes the dream of a new or expanded Library building in the future.

Friendly faces will greet you when you visit the Library:

  • Librarians at the Information Desk will answer your questions, explain how to use the Library's resources, and assist you in finding the materials you want.
  • Children's Librarians perform storytimes for preschool children, host library visits from local schools, and maintain a welcoming area for children.
  • Library Clerks make Library cards, checkout the materials you've selected and explain fines and fees. The Library also provides self-checkout machines that print a receipt of the materials you've chosen and their due dates.
  • Library Pages reshelve books and other Library materials.
