Seed Library

The Union City Library has a seed library. Come grow with us!

Stop by and pick up a seed of the month kit or make a selection from our seed library.  Take a moment to check growing instructions and see if the selected seeds will work for you, then take them home and watch them grow.  Keep in mind that this is a shared resource, and that one seed equals one plant!

No library card required, and no need to save or return seeds. If you would like to share seeds collected from your garden, please bring your dried seeds to the library in a bag labeled with the collection date, seed type and any additional information you think appropriate. Information on seed collecting can be found by visiting the University of California Master Gardeners.

We would love to hear from you. Share questions, details of your gardening experiences, and/or photos of your plants to seeds@aclibrary.org. You can also visit the Garden Center  for more growing tips and information.

This seed library is supported in part by the Alameda County Library Foundation
