Catalog Instant Search Plug-in

Have you ever wanted to use the small instant search box in the upper-right corner of the browser window to find an item at the Alameda County Library?

Now you can using the search plug-in created by the library!

The Alameda County Library search plug-in may be added to your Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7 search boxes using one of the links below.

• Search the ACL Catalog by Title
• Search the ACL Catalog by Keyword
• Search the ACL Catalog by Author
• Search the ACL Catalog by Subject

Installation Tips:

After selecting one of the plug-ins above you will see the following dialog box.

Follow the steps below to install the plug-in!

Click "Add Provider"
or
Click "Cancel" to exit the Add Search Provider dialog box.

Once a plug-in is installed select the instant search pull-down menu
to select the instant search provider.

Now you can to use the Instant Search box to search the ACL catalog!

Note: The following dialog box will appear if you have previously installed an ACL Search plug-in.

To set the default search provider:

use the "Change Search Default" in the pull-down menu

Select the search provider and click "Set Default".

To remove a search provider:

To remove a search provider completely
use the "Change Search Default" in the pull-down menu

Select the search provider to remove and click "Remove".
