Responding to the community's request for increased library service, the Newark Library is pleased to announce new hours of service on Sundays. Beginning on September 11, 2016, the Library will be open on Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Funding provided by the City of Newark enables the Library to add hours of service on Sundays. The Library will hold a celebration on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., which will include a magic show and balloon art for the whole family.
The Dublin Library is pleased to announce new, expanded hours of service on Thursdays to meet the growing needs of Dublin’s community. Beginning on September 1, 2016, the Library will add Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., to its operating schedule. Funding provided by the City of Dublin enables the Library to remain open for two additional hours.

The City of Dublin is constructing improvements in partnership with Alameda County Library to create a unique multi-function space at the Dublin Library. The construction period will be from July 2016 through late-fall 2016 and during that time the City will make every effort with its contractor to minimize the impact on adjacent spaces and public uses. The improvements will occur in the Dublin Library’s expansion space which is adjacent to the Children’s Area and Program Room.

Alameda County Library is hosting its annual Summer Reading Game from June 13 to August 13. The game is open to all ages 0 – 100 +. With games for Pre-readers, Kids, Teens, and Adults – it’s a perfect family activity! The all‐ages game is fun, free, and easy to play. Players earn points and prizes by reading and completing various activities. The more you read, the more chances you can win.
Tech It Out, a kiosk that deploys iPads and Laptops at the Alameda County Library, just turned 1. Tech It Out is an innovative library program that reflects how libraries transform to adapt to the growing and changing world of technology and the needs of our communities.
