SF Chronicle Film Critic Mick LaSalle Talks about the Oscars

The Castro Valley Library invites you to a special presentation by San Francisco Chronicle film critic Mick LaSalle on the Academy Awards on Sunday, February 19 from 2 pm to 3:30 pm.

The Castro Valley Library invites you to a special presentation by San Francisco Chronicle film critic Mick LaSalle on Pre-Code films and a showing of the 1933 classic Baby Face beginning Saturday, November 12 at 1 pm.


Pokémon Go: Catch 'Em at the Library

The library is a great place to find Pokémon! The Centerville Library was recently featured as a Bay Area hotspot for Pokémon Go, and Pokémon Go players are welcome to stop by the PokeStops and PokeGyms at our libraries to catch ‘em all. Don’t forget to be safe and stay aware of your surroundings.   


Book Fair Features 30 Local Writers

Thirty writers will showcase their books at the Castro Valley Library’s Book Fair. This event will feature writers of fiction and nonfiction books in a wide variety of genres and topics. The ever-expanding ways for writers to get their work published in print and online means more people can put their stories out into the world. With this event the Castro Valley Library has become part of the pipeline from local authors to their readers.
